Commercial and Action Packed Story

I am back another week with another review of a film of our beloved Chiyaan Vikram and lovely Samantha, 10 Endrathukulla (Before counting to 10).

This story reveals about a driving instructor (Vikram), who has many famous names such as ‘James Bond’, ‘AR Murugadoss’ and even ‘Mani Ratnam’ but never reveals his real name. He is assigned to deliver a ‘prasatham’ which is a woman to Pooran Singh (Abhimanyu Singh) in Uttrakhand. Shakila (Samantha Ruth Prabhu) is an orphan who lives in orphanage home and has failed her driving test so many times I lost count and she is the girl that should be delivered to the villain. So Vikram meets Shakila when she registers to learn how to drive cars but both of them seems can’t get along. Vikram get irritated by Shakila’s childish attitude during the journey to Mussorie, a place in Uttrakhand, but soon falls in love with Shakila during the journey. When they reach there, they were asked to stay there for a few days until the festive season ends. During the stay, Vikram finds out why Shakila needs to be delivered to Daksha Bhai. Shakila is the doppelganger (the evil twin) of Daksha Bhai’s sister, Gadgi Moi (which is also played by Samantha Ruth Prabhu). Gadgi Moi is a cruel and pitiless upper-caste leader who is in jail for killing people of lower-caste people. Daksha Bhai has plans to replace Shakila with Gadgi Moi and sends her to jail while flies Gadgi to overseas. Vikram manages rescue Shakila and Gadgi Moi is killed by Daksha Bhai himself. The story ends with Vikram telling Shakila his true name and it is disgusted by Shakila.

In this film, as usual, Vikram has left us with no mistake as he delivers a perfect part of his role. This is the film of him after the spectacular ‘I’. He doesn’t look like 50 years old at all! Chiyaan is still looking young and slaying it with his smartness. Contrast to him is Samantha, a candy girl that pops out positive vibration and energy. Her journey with Vikram to the destination is a beautiful journey and eventually falls in love with each other. This is one of the best role she have ever done yet so far. The cute innocent geek girl is suiting her really well. Another character that need to be mentioned is Pasupathy, who is in screen with Vikram previously for Majaa return but this time not as brothers. He is a villain with funny character attached in between some scenes and he proves he can entertain us easily. The others are Abhimanyu Singh and Rahul Dev and many more but did not shine well as much as the two main character in the film.

Since the teaser and trailer of this film came out, the expectation for this film is really on a high level after the dramatically daring of Vikram in ‘I’. But somehow the first half of the film simply drags it down with moving slowly. Besides that, after a big hit for Goli Soda, many were waiting for another hit as it but were let down as they did not match up the expectation that they had in him, Vijay Milton. Sreeker’s Prasad did well in this film especially with Samantha’s introduction. The second half of this film is pack with actions, romance and also twist and turns that will surprise you.

.D.Imman is one of my favourite music composer as almost all his songs enters my favourite lists. But sadly, other than Aanalum Intha Mayakam, the other songs in 10 Endrathukulla did not dwell well in the film. This song really mixed well with the situation and made us be emotional.
