Anuskha plays the role as oversize Source from starviews
Greeting to all. Today once again I am back with another Tamil movie, which is Inji Idappuzhagi or also known as Size Zero.
So the story begins with Sweety’s childhood (played by Anushka Shetty). She is outlandishly attracted with fortune cookies which contains messages in it in the railway stations. When she grows up, we get to see an overweight lady who does not care what others judging her. But not the same goes with her mother (Urvasi) who wants her Sweety to get marry soon as she’s getting old. However, every time the grooms came to meet her, all of them rejected her because of her obese figure. Nevertheless, she meets Abhi (Arya) and falls in love with him unknowingly. As time goes on, she gets fed up with everyone’s judgement, including the mothers’ about obesity. Left heartbroken due to finding out Abhi is in a relationship with Simran and pressure about her plus size figure, she joins a loss weight program called Size Zero. But what turns wrong is that, the owner of Size Zero uses unhealthy products and extreme exercises which can lead to death. Sweety’s friend who also joins Size Zero almost die because of this and this is when the story gets heat up when Sweety will run a campaign against Size Zero. At the end, as usual, the good will win over the bad but what interesting is that will she lose her weight and marries the love of her life?
For me personally, Inji Idduppazhagi is going smoothly until a point where I can guess what is going to happen next. The story becomes little predictable when it comes to fighting the bad and win at the end. What surprises me was the end, about her marriage.
For this oversize role, Anushka Shetty has done the part perfectly. As we all know, she actually gain weight to fit in this role. Bravo for her! Her performance as independent lady who do not care what others say or when she fights the villain, everything seems easy for her. Arya, as usual, the charming hero has also played his character very well. He, as the documentary filmmaker about toilets and hygiene is quite convincing. Prakash Raj, as the villain, is a pro at what he does and he does it perfectly. Others are Urvasi, Bharath, Sonal Chauhan and many more also manage to pull off their role well.
Actor Bharath, who played the role of Sweety’s younger brother used to be plus size in real life. I could not identify him at the first glance as apparently he loses so much weight.
This movie is out in theatre in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. The director of this film is none other than Prakash Kovelamudi. Although this movie is not my favourite, but, yet congratulations to him and his crew to a different attempt in Tamil cinema with an oversize woman’s story. This is not a normal love story that we are going to see all the time.
