Actress Jyothika is back on screen!

36 Vayadhinile is a story about 36-years-old Vasanthi ( Jyothika ) who works as a government employee in the revenue department. The role of her husband is played by (Rahman) who named Tamizhselvan and works in a radio station with her parent-in-law and also their thirteen years old daughter Mithila ( Amritha Anil ). Tamizhselvan and Mithila wants to migrate to Ireland for a better life, but Vasanthi keeps failing her immigration interviews and job applications due of her age being a problem. All of the sudden, Vasanthi’s smooth and boring life changes completely as the President of the India wants to have lunch with her, after Vasanthi’s daughter Mithila had impressed him with a question when the Presidents visited her school and Mithila have told the President that her mother has taught her that. But Vasanthi faints before the president and since then she becomes the laughing element of her family, friends, neighbours, colleagues and also as the internet jokes. While her husband and daughter fly away to Ireland, she was left here. Things started to change when Susan ( Abhirami ) a good friend of Vasanthi who is now a successful businesswoman, reminds her how she always fight for good causes in their college days. This has inspire Vasanthi to rebuild herself and how big her dream and aspirations was. When she got an invitation for catering for a wedding, she caught an idea and creates new garden with fresh vegetables without any fertilizers and chemicals. A short while after that, she is invited as a guest to be interviewed by the president of India. But as for this time, she manages to answer to his questions without any problems and the movie ends with showing some famous women that have achieved many successful goals in their life.

Jyothika, returns to acting field, in a film appears to proclaim her age in the movie title itself. Jyothika known for her great talent in acting comes back fresh after years and she owns the screen. 36 Vayadhinile is a story of the protagonist on a mission of self discovery which is well portrayed by Jyothika. In total, this film is little weak as other than Jyothika, no other character is well defined and Rahman ( Vasanthi’s husband ) comes as a villain in this film than just an ordinary man and has shown him as a manipulative and selfish character.

The sound track and background music of 36 Vayadhinile is from Santhosh Narayanan and it sure brighten up the movie in total. Viji’s dialogues in this film filled with humour which creates laughter and is full with emotions. As known by all, Rosshan Andrews is the director of the original film ‘How Old Are You’ and he has repeated the same magic in this 36 Vayadhinile and succeed. Another special mention would be Surya and this is his first production in 2D Entertainment.

In a nutshell, this film reminds women that age does not matter to be successful in life.
